Me

09 August 2005 @ 03:48 pm
How long does it take a bug trapped under a cup to die? Just wondering cuase I've had one on my kitchen counter for a few days now. This bug is the size of I'm-not-going-to-be-able-to-kill-anything-that-large.

I fled my apartment yesterday because it smelled of Chaquita bananas and Raycalla Mccintosh apples. Boxes everywhere and now Meijer people recognize me and ask when I go for more boxes "You're still packing?" My head seemed like it would explode.....

THIS IS WHAT I THOUGHT ABOUT 4 YEARS AGO! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
I found my old Live Journal account and cannot stop laughing. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

01 June 2005 @ 06:51 pm
So I took 4 students out to dinner tonight (they bought me at a class auction). While eating I was regaled with a story of a TV show where a girl kissed her boyfriend. "He French kissed her (at which all the girls giggled, blushed and turned away) you know, that close smoochy kind (more giggling and quick glances at me to ensure I wasn't shocked. No, I wasn't, hard to believe, I know)." CHILDREN ARE SO FUNNY!!! Especially when you get a bunch of little girls together. Often I like to catch up on the 4th grade gossip and discover who likes who in the 4th grade. It's quite entertaining. So Aaron likes Arianna and because Aaron likes her, so does Mark and to follow the crowd, Will decided to fall for her as well. Hideous thought, Mark and Arianna marrying one day. I shudder in a convulsing ball on the floor ~their children~ PLEASE, NO!!!!! Jared likes Kiera and when he told Marissa (who ate with me tonight), she looked at him in surprise, which wounded his fragile heart. "I like her and there's nothing you can do about it! She's wonderful and I love her! I love her!” he yells, to Marissa's shock. I was laughing very hard upon hearing this because Jared is a timid, quiet little guy.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I am so entirely amused I cannot stop! Nothing better than reading yourself droning on and on and on and on.....

To add to my list of things my husband must be able to do:
1. Dance. 2. Fix cars. 3. Cook. 4. Smile at me like he wants to fly away in the clouds with me. 5. Sing to me at night.
Of course, there is a lot more but I am hungry and to me, food always comes first. DINNER, yum!!

ps. I had a job interview yesterday! Yay!! Lets all go help me by killing off the compitition!

05 June 2004 @ 10:21 pm
I took a nap today, my second for year 2004!! Go me! And I dreamed I was trying to drive to my grandma's house in Italy but the highway signs were going by way too fast for me to read. Then I realized: hey, I'm in a video game, thats why I can't read the signs. SO, I turned into Mario and leaned back and drove with my bare toes.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
I must say, I haven't been this entertained by my trivial ramblings for a while. Oh the thinks I think!

Croak, Croak...

There's this blog I read called Dooce cause she's freaking HI-LAR-I-OUS. We both talk in caps a lot and maybe she yells a lot in real life, like I do. Anyway, she started a blog of HATEMAIL to make ad money off the crazy things people comment on her page/e-mail her.

I really like this idea. But I think if I got hate comments, I'd cry a lot. A LLLLLLOOOOOTTTTT. Because I am a wimp when it comes to accepting criticism. Or hate. It makes me sob and worry.

Guess what? I'm staying home from work tomorrow cause I'm losing my voice!!! I had to do this once last year, in December (3 days in the 3rd week that month) because I got a HORRIBLE cold, didn't rest, and it consumed my life. Seems familiar. Damn me and my not resting skills. Why is it when I feel fine, I am lazy but when I am sick, THINGS MUST GET DONE?

ANYWAY, I will be home tomorrow, antsy and home. I need to go out and buy dishwasher soap, return some things to stores, and drop off Goodwill stuff. But I'm scared to cause if any of my students' parents see me, they will immediately assume I'm skipping out on their kid to play hooky and run errands. When I speak/croak, they'll know I have a good excuse but what if they see me far off? What if they point fingers? CRITICIZE ME??????

I think I'll do my errands in a different town, not in mine.

BTW, I don't know how to spell criticize. Or errands. Or available. Isn't that smart of a teacher? But I am a very good teacher, a fine example to kids that not everyone is good at everything. I'm an amazing teacher but an atrocious speller.

New Harmony on Saturday, must be able to speak by then!!!

HFCS

I don't know where my husband is tonight. I'm assuming he's working late and will get up in a minute to call him. He is usually pretty good about calling to let me know he'll be late. He is now 1.5 hours late but has been doing a lot of job training and classes lately so he could very well be swamped in his cubicle. Last night he was out till 9:30!!!!!!

In the meantime, I found a new blog!!!! It is The Heart Scan Blog and I don't know if the guy is off his rocker or a respected doctor. His book got good reviews on Amazon, not that that means a whole lot about the validity of his medical advice.  I did find out that according to him, wheat diets are actually not heart friendly!! I'll definitely have to look into that more!! I'm all about the whole wheat but apparently it promotes blockage in the heart and we should only consume 60 grams (max!!) of carbs per meal. Hmm.... This is what I ate today: oatmeal, orange, granola bar, PBJ sandwich, yogurt with strawberries, 2 cookies, 12 almonds (hehe, 12 is my limit!), veggie/rice stir fry, and later maybe I'll have some tea. That's a lot of grains!!!!!! Hmm..... Again with the hmming!!!!

Here's an interesting post about high fructose corn syrup, something my brother in law rants about (and rightly so!!!). It is nice not to be the only ranter in the family now. My mom actually declined when I offered to bring a dessert to her house last weekend because "I'd only make something healthy." I laughed because I guess that is true. What's the problem with sneaking in ground flax seed or only cooking with fruit? Apparently my whole wheat flour has been killing everyone for while now, unbeknownst to me. Sorry family and friends!!! I'll stop being healthy!!!

Here's a good clip about the dangers of HFCS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hrRqr8BaBWo. I wasn't surprised that 2/3 the food in grocery stores contain HFCS. Kinda motivates me to get up right now and check my ketchup and tomato sauce, 2 things I don't check for HFCS before buying. I usually make most our meals from scratch and we rarely buy processed/pre-made foods. Wait, what about salad dressing? Does that have HFCS? I really need to get up and check. Maybe all the wheat I consumed today has made me sluggish. Or I could blame it on the sleepless husband last night and his tossing and turning. Or the 29 kids sucking my life force out for hours each day. Awww, I love my hubby and kids. I should call hubby and make sure he isn't dead.

Hey, the tornado sirens just started going off! I always think I'll be able to hear a tornado coming so I rarely hide in the closet like I'm supposed to.  J. is a good emergency husband and prepares the closet-shelter. He wonders aloud about things like "What about the animals?" or "We need to get in there, now!!!" or "My wife is insane.". I watch TV, surf the Internet, or cook through alarms. I don't know if that is good or bad.

RSS, Excel, Brothers

J. is out for the weekend with a friend in KY. Since this is the very first weekend he has been gone in our Marriage History, I was a bit confused about what to do with myself. Yes, I know I go out of town often and he finds stuff to do all weekend I am gone.... but I'm not used to this!!!! I mean, if you've been married for a while, you start to forget what it was like with no one around for days on end. Pre-marriage, it seemed normal to spend a night by myself and now, well, not so much. So, of course I immediately  panicked on my first night alone and fled to my mama's house. I'm hoping to force myself back to The House Void of Humans Yet Filled With Pets tonight. I miss my hubby:(

TODAY I LEARNED WHAT RSS MEANS!!!!! Brother Daniel haughtily informed me I was 8 years behind. Hrumph. He probably doesn't even know what the word haughty means. ANYWHO, I am now the proud owner of a Google Reader account and 12 gagillion blogs in it!!! Wow, how convenient. Lately I've been thinking there must be an easier way to keep up with all the blogs in which I delight. Who knew what I needed was that funny RSS word meant??!?!?!?! NOT ME!!!

Also, I have become a recent lover of Excel and FUNCTIONS!!! J. taught me or I copy-learned a lot in the past year. Danial taught me various complicated functions for a document containing NWEA scores of my students. I know so much more!!!

So, like I said, I'm at my mom and dad's house today. I haven't stayed here overnight since Christmas. Seems like a long time! It is very nice to be here because unlike my house, I HAVE NO RESPONSIBILITIES!!!! I love it:)

Daniel is a dork.
