Does anyone know what molasses is made of, before I go and check? I know it has a good amount of magnesium and iron in it. Go figure. But what does it come from? A tree, like syrup (excuse me, like REAL syrup)? Sugar and corn syrup blended together? WHAT?

Oh, it's a byproduct of turning sugar cane into sugar. Oh.
Sorry for not knowing that.
My sister-in-law made molasses cookies the other day -- I've never given any thought to molasses before that.
